Position at SteelSeries

Would you like to be part of a fast-growing, international and industry-leading gaming peripheral company? Are you passionate about delivering high quality business analyses and insights into financial and operational performance indicators? Does working in a diverse, ambitious, and dynamic team motivate you? Then tell us some more about yourself.

WHY WE NEED YOU:

SteelSeries has been experiencing rapid growth and in January 2022 we became part of GN Store Nord. The demand for the corporate finance function being a well-oiled machine room is high and necessary to support the growth and reporting requirements for a large C25 company.

We are looking for a dedicated Corporate Finance Manager for our Chicago office or remotely in North America. Your responsibilities will, among other things, be to deliver business analyses, financial planning, and reporting on financial performance as well as to optimize our financial reporting processes. You can expect to spend most of your time on business analysis and finance reporting, including business insights, profitability analyses, business performance and risk management, and cost analysis. Finally, you will also spend time on optimization and ad hoc tasks that support our CFO and CEO in their daily tasks.

You will report directly to the Head of Corporate Finance who is based in Canada and support the CFO and CEO who are based in the US. The majority of the finance team is located in Copenhagen with local business controllers based in the regions.

Responsibilities:

·       Ensure that our monthly management reporting to SteelSeries and the GN Group is delivered on time and with high-quality data – this includes insights on relevant financial and operational performance indicators (including the preceding sign-off from relevant business managers)

·       Be responsible for the monthly business review process and presentation to GN management, which will include financial, operational, and other business-relevant reporting

·       Be deeply involved in our budget and forecasting processes, including data validation, consolidation, and reporting

·       Be responsible for the business case preparation, including yearly updates following the end of annual reporting and continuous updates/maintenance in liaise with the relevant internal teams (e.g., sales, R&D and operation teams)

·       Prepare input for weekly meetings with Sales and Operations, allowing for the discussion and analysis of short-term sales expectations

·       Ensure that our reporting processes and tools (including BI) are optimized and remain innovative

·       Deliver concrete business analyses and insights to management in both SteelSeries and the GN Group

·       Report on financial performance, risk management, etc.

·       Manage overall financial and business controlling to ensure data quality and consistency in our analyses and reporting

·       Contribute to projects aimed at optimizing finance and reporting processes across the entire organization

·       Serve as a sounding board for other members of the management team

Necessary Skills:

·       You ideally have at least 3-6 years of experience as a financial transaction service professional, finance business partner, business controller, or FP&A professional, having ideally worked with end-to-end financial analysis and reporting and consolidation for a company or staff functions in a large, complex international organization

·       You preferably have a degree in finance or accounting

·       Experience from a company working with development, production, sales, and/or product distribution will be considered an advantage. You do not need to be a gamer, but any experience with consumer electronics is a plus

·       You speak and write English effortlessly

·       You have excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills. Moreover, you preferably have some experience with Power BI, SQL and/or Navision

·       Finally, you need to be able to think both commercially and strategically while being hands-on with deliveries, Excel and presentations. So, your professional toolbox needs to be both deep and broad

Personal skills:

·       You are a quick learner, allowing you to easily get the lay of the land in terms of our business, our existing data, and our reporting. In addition, your commercial mindset allows you to think optimization across the entire value chain

·       To really be able to shape your own role, you will need just the right mix of humility, curiosity and initiative. Moreover, you will need the ability to create fruitful relationships and strong lines of communication across the organization and with stakeholders across different time zones

·       Your open and communicative personality means that you fare well in an international organization where you will not be able to see people face-to-face every day – and that you embrace changes in anything from strategy to input from your peers

·       You consider yourself responsible and proactive, and if you see anything not up to par, you take action and help solve the issue. With your analytical and curious nature, you enjoy learning new things and putting your findings into a broader perspective

·       Finally, your attention to detail is second to none, but you also have a healthy understanding of when to make a decision based on the information available

WITHIN 1 MONTH YOU WILL:

·       Settle in and get to know your new colleagues in the finance team

·       Start being introduced to the processes and ongoing corporate finance tasks

 WITHIN 3 MONTHS YOU WILL:

·       Be experienced within the daily processes and broaden the horizon

·       Run with financial analyses independently

·       Participate actively in process implementation and development

FUN STUFF:

·       Massive opportunities for growing professionally and personally while making an impact

·       Great colleagues with lots of professional expertise and lots of humor

·       Competitive salary

·       Free gear and games
