&lt;li&gt;Work, learn, and grow with a small group of motivated VFX artists.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Work closely with the Visual Effects Lead, Creative, Design, Engineering and Production teams to develop and execute visual effects concepts and ideas.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Leverage our proprietary tools, photoshop, and Maya to create effects that balance the visual needs with our performance and design requirements.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Build productive working relationships inside and outside of the VFX team.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Aid in developing, documenting, and presenting best practices for VFX team.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;WHAT YOU&#039;LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A portfolio or demo reel that showcases your artistic and technical skills and an excellent understanding of real-time visual effects and visual design.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Previous shipped games as a Visual Effects artist.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ability to identify larger sub discipline problems and cross discipline problems while communicating issues and helping find solutions.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Experience crafting custom materials/shaders.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Keen understanding of particle, geometry, ribbons, beams and material use for real time visual effects.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Ability to author texture source from scratch, photo/video reference and create flipbooks.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Highly motivated, self-starter, creative thinker, requiring little to no guidance.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Able to follow direction and collaborate productively with co-workers.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Accurately and consistently estimate content creation time.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Strong grasp of the overall ArenaNet visual style for Guild Wars.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;PLUSES&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Background in painting, concept art, or animation.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Strong understanding of game development pipelines.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Understanding of material creation.&lt;/li&gt;
