This position requires candidates to be residing in and authorized to work in China; applicants must be local to either Dongguan or Shenzhen. Candidates should be able to reliably attend calls during US business hours when requested (approx. 10 pm to 6 am BJT/CST).

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Technical Program Engineer located in China to join our Product Management team. This individual will be responsible for driving the successful execution of projects by ensuring all hardware deliverables are provided on time and at the quality standards expected for Glorious products.

This position reports to the Technical Program Manager. This individual will also work closely with multiple contract manufacturers (CMs) and Product Development Managers (PDMs), as well as many other internal teams including engineering and quality assurance (QA).

Compensation

The starting annual salary for this role is up to $375,000 CNY depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end product development process for peripherals, from inception to launch, ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Support or lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process in conjunction with the product management team and CMs, ensuring the successful and timely launch of products
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, project management, manufacturing, and QA, to define project scope, quality targets, deliverables, and timelines
  • Track and engage in all stages of the product design, prototyping, tooling, and product sampling process
  • Investigate tooling, jigs, and fixtures for improvement points
  • Facilitate communication between PDMs and CMs to ensure transparent and efficient updates, identify potential risks and issues, proactively implement mitigation strategies, and recommend corrective actions as necessary
  • Investigate and optimize product development and project management issues with CMs via onsite meetings, project plans, troubleshooting, and budget or Bill of Materials (BOMs) review
  • Coordinate with additional external vendors and partners to oversee tooling development, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures
  • Participate in golden sample approval process
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure necessary components are developed, qualified, and delivered in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Professional fluency in English and Mandarin
  • Located and authorized to work in China; residency within or local to Dongguan or Shenzhen is required
  • Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection
  • The ability to attend internal meetings or take calls during US business hours
  • 2+ years as a product manager, mechanical engineer, program manager, or in another role responsible for ensuring the quality of deliverables while working on-site with CMs
  • 2+ years of experience in the consumer electronics field, specifically in the areas of product assembly and quality control/management
  • Strong knowledge of plastic and metal tooling design, injection molding, and surface treatments
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Design for Manufacturability (DFM) review process
  • Proficiency with Asana or other task management software
  • Ability to work independently without direct/onsite supervision
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently
