The product 
RENNSPORT is the playground for car enthusiasts. A live-service racing simulation in its alpha stage of development with thousands of eager players already on the waiting list for release, as well as a top tier live competition dubbed “ESL R1”. 
RENNSPORT (the game) and ESL R1 are the tip of the iceberg in our vision to completely transform how players and fans engage with racing games, where the community of players, modders, and pro drivers are front and centre of everything we do.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You have a genuine interest in creating scalable online systems that can benefit millions of players. We believe you take pride in code crafting and that you are motivated by bleeding-edge technology. You are comfortable with working in an international environment, have good communication skills in English, and are aligned with our core values.

In this role, you will be responsible for: 

  • Identify and define technical solutions for bleeding edge online features
  • Write clean, maintainable, portable code with the goal of bringing the best online experience to our players
  • Ensure that new features and systems meet high performance requirements and match the project’s C++ code style
  • Document your work to share knowledge on how to use the new systems and functionalities
  • Contribute to planning sessions and code reviews with your peers
  • Work together with other international studios

YOUR PROFILE

  • Professional experience of working with modern Golang, including package management, refactoring, optimisation, debugging and testing.

  • Experience in profiling and low-level optimisations.

  • Experienced with databases and database design with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.

  • Experienced with API design.

  • Interest within cloud technology (such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).

  • Interest in collaboration with systems administrators (in a “DevOps” environment), focused on automation and containerisation.

What could make you stand out more?

  • Engineering degree in computer science, or equivalent is a plus
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Google Cloud
  • Experience with non-relational databases
  • Experience with Message Bus/Streaming Architecture
  • Experience with game development and working with first parties
  • Experience with live services
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
