About the role: Esports Teacher

Activate Learning recognises the demand in the next generation of gaming and sports industry combined. Esports has seen tremendous growth in recent years and due to the ever-growing success, esports has now landed within mainstream education.

Here at Activate Learning, we are advocating this success by offering Level 2 and 3 courses at our outstanding new purpose-built esport labs, based at our Technology Campus in Blackbird Leys.

We are looking for an Esports Teacher to provide innovative and creative lessons to a diverse group of talented students that ultimately share the same passion, to become successful in gaining a recognised qualification which will enable them to potentially pursue a career in esports, sports, marketing, or technology.

This is a full-time, permanent contract, based at our Technology Campus in Blackbird Leys, Oxford. Part-time/Job share also considered.

Formal teaching in the role won't be needed until September 2023, however we are keen to bring a candidate on board from August onwards to ensure the post-holder is settled and feeling prepared prior to the new academic year.

What do you need to be a successful Esports Teacher at Activate Learning?

We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work.

You will have a minimum Level 3 qualification in in Digital Gaming, Creative Media or relevant alternative qualification and/or subject area experience, and up-to-date knowledge of the esports industry to develop the skills of the future generation.

Whilst previous teaching experience and qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach esports and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

About you:

  • Level 3 qualification in Digital Gaming, Creative Media, or relevant alternative qualification, or experience is essential
  • It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential
