How to create a candidate profile

Before you dive in...

Ensure you're logged into your personal account before you embark on the process of creating your candidate profile. If you don't already have an account, simply click on 'Sign Up' at the top right corner. You'll then have the option to create a new username and password, complete with your name and profile picture, or you can conveniently use a Google or LinkedIn account.

! A Point to Note

Remember, you have the flexibility to set your profile to 'Anonymous' at any stage during or after creating your candidate profile. This means your personal profile and contact details will be concealed from recruiters. However, if a recruiter expresses interest in you, they can send a request to access this information. You maintain control over this information by choosing whether to accept or deny the request.

Creating your profile

1. Go over to the Jobs section of the TEN website, make sure you've chosen your personal profile, but not the company (if you have one), and click ''Become a candidate''.

What are you looking for?

2. In this section, you're required to specify the role that you're interested in and the years of experience you have in that particular role. If there are alternative names for this role or you are open to considering several different roles, feel free to include them in the 'Alternative Position' field.

3. Following this, it's important to state your salary expectations. Exercise caution while inputting the amount, and ensure you select the correct option between a monthly and yearly salary. Since salary norms vary across different regions globally, we've included both options for your convenience.

About You

Having detailed the primary information about the type of job you're seeking, it's now time to share more about yourself. This additional information will aid recruiters in determining whether their job vacancy is a good fit for you, saving both parties valuable time.

4. Firstly, let's focus on location. Indicate your current location or, if you're planning a move, the place where you intend to seek work. Bear in mind that we use Google's official API for location services, so any queries related to finding a specific location should be directed to Google.

5. Next, list the languages you're proficient in and select the appropriate level of proficiency from the following options:

"Elementary Proficiency" - Possesses a basic understanding, able to handle elementary tasks.
"Limited Working Proficiency" - Capable of performing job-specific tasks, but may need assistance with more complex tasks.
"Professional Working Proficiency" - Can independently carry out most tasks, but may have limited experience in specialized areas.
"Full Professional Proficiency" - Highly skilled and experienced, able to easily perform all tasks.
"Native or Bilingual Proficiency" - Fluent speaker, equivalent to a native speaker's proficiency.

6. Following this, you'll need to describe your professional experience in the 'Brief Overview' field. This allows you to give recruiters an insight into your background. This section serves as an important introduction about you. If you find it challenging to craft this on your own, you may consider using AI-based tools or draw inspiration from other candidates' profiles on the site.

7. Next, it's time to upload your CV. Note that we accept various formats, but recruiters generally find formats other than PDF to be less convenient (read why here).

8. Then, it's essential to specify the type of employment you're seeking:
Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Internship

9. Subsequently, indicate your preferred work arrangement:
On-site, Remote, Hybrid, Open to relocation

10.  Finally, for this section, state your industry preferences. Some individuals may have reservations about working in certain industries, hence we've provided the option to select your areas of interest: Esports, Game Dev, iGaming.

In the last three sub-sections, you can choose from one to as many parameters as you wish, based on your preferences.

Your Contacts
The last mandatory section. It will help determine the primary channels through which recruiters can contact you outside the website (although we strongly recommend checking your inbox on our site from time to time).

11. You'll need to provide your full name so recruiters know how to address you, a valid email address, and a phone number. We might already have some of this information and will fill it in for you. Please ensure the details are correct!

In addition to this, you can select a messenger that you find most convenient for communication.

12. Lastly, an important component: if you have the opportunity to showcase your work, we've included a field for your portfolio. It's crucial to compile all your work under one link, so recruiters don't have to spend time navigating through multiple links. This enhances the likelihood that they will actually review your work.

Additional Information
The next page is dedicated to optional additional information. However, its completion is vital if you aim to receive more relevant job offers from recruiters and pique their interest in your profile.

If you'd prefer not to fill out the profile but still wish to receive job offers, you can create Job Alerts and receive proposals from our platform.

13. The first thing to specify on this page is your market experience. You need to select from a range of key options or input your own.

14. Next, you can list your key skills. The more, the better. These will help enhance your profile visibility during searches and while being reviewed by recruiters.

15. Further, in the 'What are your biggest wins?' field, you need to let us know about your most significant achievements, either professionally or personally. This helps recruiters get a better sense of who you are.

16. In the 'Tell us about your perfect job' field, share what kind of company or project you really want to work with.

17. Finally, in the 'What would stop you from taking a job?' field, share your major deal-breakers, such as certain industries, schedules, benefits, or anything else that would be a non-negotiable for you.

18. After this, click 'Publish', and don't forget to update your profile if anything significant arises.

Upon completion, we recommend reviewing everything once more and reflecting on whether you've missed anything essential. Well-chosen words can captivate a recruiter and help you land your dream job, while missing or poorly considered statements can hinder your chances. Exercise caution.
